The Brethren Of Ng'ondu

by Story Moja

"Tell us, Mukami, how many times do you actually talk gospel with him? How many times do you actually talk about God?"

An uncomfortable silence befell the room. After a few minutes, Mukami rose to her feet and strode to the door. She opened it in a single wordless gesture, and held it like that without turning to look at them. Silently, the group filed out. Mureithi was the last to leave. As he went past Mukami, he paused and whispered hoarsely in her ear, "There is nothing special about that thing between your legs. Kimando will take his fill and walk away. We have seen him do that before."
